Empire Pizza

Twenty Four

This was taken after we had been to the top of the Empire State Building. We were heading towards the Flatiron Building (see previous post). However, on the way be bought a delicious pizza from a 7/11 store. Not the Empire Pizza. It was delicious. We ate it in a small park with the Flatiron Building before us and the Empire State behind us. Perfect.

Another photo using the Nikon D610. Nothing fancy, just a holiday snap.

Hats

Seventeen

One of the things on my shopping list was snap backs, or as my dad calls them base ball caps. What does he know?!

Hats

I knew what I wanted but still found it difficult to find. It was a particular Miami Heat snap back. This was one shop that was recommended to me (I can’t remember the name now). As you can see they had lots of hats. One wall was just hats and the opposite wall was just trainers. Didn’t find what I wanted but the amount of stuff was impressive and I think made for an interesting photo.

Another one with the Nikon D610.

Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum

Sixteen

Yes, I know that this is usually just called the Guggenheim.

We had rushed here from Ground Zero (we only walked around the outside because we were running short of time). As it was early evening and we hadn’t had time for lunch I was feeling hungry. There was quite a queue to get into the Guggenheim and mum suggested that dad and I stay in the queue while she pop to the main road which was next to Central Park and get some street food. It was worth it. My first chilli dog. DELICIOUS. Both dad and I loved them. Mum was really nice and popped off and got us another each!

Inside the Guggenheim, the building was very interesting. My dad is not too keen on modern art. I sort of understand what he means. Quite often we would comment, “I could do that.”

Another photo taken with the Olympus OMD.

The View from the Rockefeller

Fourteen

I guess that this is quite a commonly seen view but it is the first time I had seen it for real.

The View From the Rockefeller

Taken from the Rockerfeller Building with the Nikon D610.

Rockefeller Building

Seven

This is just one of the views which I photographed from the top of the Rockefeller Building

Rockefeller Building

This is this the first time I have been in a skyscraper. Don’t get many here in Berkshire. The views were great. Funny thing is that I sort of expected the building to look taller – at least from the ground. You can see the Empire State Building in the centre. We went up that as well on a later date both during the day and then at night to see Manhattan after dark. One thing I did not enjoy was queuing up to get to the top. The Rockefeller was not too bad but the Empire State took hours. But that’s another story. Maybe I’ll post a day and night view from the Empire next. Stay tuned.
